Arkansas man sentenced to 33 months for ammunition possession by a felon

An Arkansas man was sentenced to 33 months in federal prison for being a convicted felon in possession of ammunition, the U.S. Attorney’s Office announced today.

Victor Cody Rosillo, 26, was traveling through Mississippi on October 6, 2020 when he committed a drive-by shooting near Keesler Air Force Base, close to the emergency room of Keesler Medical.

No firearm was found, but two shell casings and a spent bullet were recovered at the scene. A forensic examination determined that the 9 mm casings and the bullet were fired from a 9mm HiPoint gun which investigators learned was the same type of weapon possessed by Rosillo during the shooting incident.

Rosillo, who was serving a term of state felony probation in Arkansas at the time of the shooting in Mississippi, was indicted by a federal grand jury and pleaded guilty on December 28, 2021.
