78 Year Old Woman Raped in Gulfport

The Gulfport Police Department is requesting the public’s assistance in locating the suspect involved in the crime of Rape.

On October 18, 2015 at 11:59 p.m., the Gulfport Police Department responded to a residence in the 800 block of 25th Street in reference to a rape victim.

The on scene investigation revealed that the 78 year old victim encountered the suspect in the yard of her residence after hearing suspicious noises. At that time, the victim was forced into her residence. While inside the residence, the suspect raped the victim and later fled the residence on foot.

The suspect was described as an adult black male approximately 40-50 years of age with a heavy build.

This investigation is ongoing.
