7/31 – Payton’s Wednesday Afternoon Forecast
FORECAST: It’s the last day of July and the weather will act how it should. Hot, humid and few t-storms are possible. Really not a lot of change going throughout the next week. We will remain hot and humid although a few more t-storms will be possible during the afternoon as we head into the weekend.
TROPICS: The tropical wave near the Dominican Republic isn’t expected to develop over the next 48 hours. Once the wave gets off the coast of Florida and toward the coast of the Carolina’s it might try to develop into a weak disturbance. This won’t be an issue for the Gulf Coast. The tropical wave in the Atlantic is a different story. The probability of a tropical storm forming sometime next week continues to increase as painted by many models. Nearly all models still curve any development out to sea, but one factor that could determine if the US sees any impact from this potential system is how long it takes it to organize. Still too early to know, but something to keep an eye on.
