7/3 – Sam’s “Warmer and Drier” Thursday Evening Forecast
It has been a hot and dry day across South Mississippi as we get ready for another hot day on the 4th of July.
Expect overnight temperatures in the low to mid 70s with a light wind, generally from the north, which will help our very humid dew points drop into the upper 60s by the morning.
This light wind will also help calm marine conditions overnight, with seas around 1-2 feet throughout the day on Friday
As this light north wind dries us out, temperatures will still be quite hot for your Independence Day with highs across the area ranging from 94 to 96, and feeling like 105.
We could see a few brief showers in the western-most portions of South Mississippi along the Louisiana state line between 2 and 6 pm, and things will clear out quickly as we lose the heat of the day with sunset around 8:00 pm.
Saturday and Sunday should be pretty hot as well, with a slightly higher chance for rain as we head into Sunday. High temperatures will again reach the mid 90s across the area.
As for the tropics, the area of disorganized showers and storms has continued to push east, as well as the area for possible development. Once the front stalls out and interacts with the storms then we could see slight development, although it’s not looking like more than a Tropical Depression or Sub-tropical Depression, if it does form into anything.
