7/18 – Sam’s “Much Drier” Friday Evening Forecast

Hot Days Ahead with Midweek Rain on the Horizon

We have a few spotty showers and storms possible this evening then things quiet down overnight with lows around 77. Saturday brings a 50/50 shot at rain, especially after sunrise, but we’ll still see plenty of sunshine with highs near 91. Rain chances taper off Saturday night, and Sunday looks mostly sunny and hotter, with a high near 93 but can’t rule out a few pop-up afternoon storms.

Looking ahead, the heat builds into early next week with highs in the mid-90s Monday and Tuesday. Rain chances stay on the lower end to start the week, but by Wednesday and Thursday, moisture ramps up again with more widespread showers and storms possible.

We’re also keeping an eye on the tropics. There’s a disturbance way out in the Atlantic with a 20% chance of development over the next week, but closer to home, we’ll be watching leftover moisture from Invest 93L, which could drift back into the Gulf and boost our midweek rain chances.
