7/18 – Chris’s “The Heat Is On Yet Again” Tuesday Afternoon Forecast
Already a hot and humid day across the Southern 6 counties. A HEAT ADVISORY is in effect until 7pm as heat indices will max out between 105 to 110 degrees. High pressure is the dominant feature this afternoon, however there is a weakness in the overall pattern to the Northwest, which will not directly impact our forecast as it moves off to the east. The main story is how hot the temperatures are this week with temperatures in the mid-90s through Thursday. We can expect Heat Indices from 105 to 110 each day with heat advisories expected. With high pressure dominant, rain chances are almost nonexistent until Thursday. Friday temperatures will be in the low-90s with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms.
Slight relief is in the forecast for Saturday through the weekend as a front moves into the northern portions of the gulf south states causing rain chances to elevate. Temperatures will also return closer to average (Average High 91). With the front moving in this weekend, cloud coverage will return to mostly cloudy keeping temperatures cooler than the workweek.
