7/14 – Sam’s “Hotter and Drier” Monday Morning Forecast
A Heat Advisory is in effect for Monday, July 14 from 10 AM to 7 PM for immediate coastal areas of Jackson, Harrison and Hancock Counties as feels-like temperatures expected to reach up to 105° during the hottest part of the day. Highs will top out near 92° with a slight chance of an afternoon storm. Tonight stays mostly clear with a low around 76°.
Tuesday turns up the heat even more with highs near 95°, and the humidity will make it feel hotter than 100°. Only a small chance for a stray afternoon storm.
Rain becomes more widespread Thursday and Friday, with high chances for thunderstorms both days and highs in the upper 80s. This is due to a disorganized system of showers and storms in the Gulf, which could develop into our next tropcial system. There are some limiting factors that could hinder strengthening, but regardless of development, we are looking at a short period of heavy rain possible across South Mississippi.
That unsettled pattern continues into the weekend, with scattered storms likely Saturday and Sunday as highs hover near 90°.
