6/9 – Sam Lucey’s Rainy Monday Evening Forecast

Most of the stronger storms from this evening have pushed off shore, but before that they dropped a lot of rain across parts of south Mississippi. Lucedale picked up a little over 2″ of rainfall today, with Biloxi-Gulfport area picking up 2-3″. There is a flash flood warning for parts of Harrison and Jackson counties until 1 am, and unfortunately we’re going to see a steady rain chance for the rest of the work week.

Due to a stationary front to our north, we’re going to see an elevated chance for showers and more thunderstorms through Friday, with a higher risk for excessive rainfall, especially with the humid conditions around South Mississippi.

Gusty winds and heavy downpours leading to flash flooding will be possible Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Please avoid flooded roadways and find an alternate route.
