6/15 – Night Rob’s “Hotter Late-Week” Wednesday Night Forecast
The heat didn’t let up Wednesday, with Gulfport and Pascagoula each tying record-high temperatures for the date (95 and 98 degrees, respectively). High pressure bringing us the heat is still in control for the most part. In fact, the heat really hasn’t let up even though heat advisories aren’t posted. Gulfport had a real-feel of 109 degrees at 2 PM, tying the reading at the usually-hotter Pascagoula location.
The high has nudged enough to the north for spotty thunderstorms this evening, and that represents the only real spotty relief we’ll get from the heat through the extended period. The same 30% chance repeats Thursday with similar temperatures.
That same high will build back a little closer Friday and Saturday, shutting off the sea breeze a bit, and also limiting local convergence areas that cause thunderstorm. Thus, we’ll be back to a 20% chance Friday as temperatures get even hotter into Saturday. There’s a decent chance heat advisories could be back up then.
We’ll get a brief drop in humidity Sunday, making it the better of the two weekend days, but it ramps right back up early next week.
