5th annual Heroes at Fallen Oak Tournament
HARRISON COUNTY, Miss. (WXXV)- On Tuesday morning, Beau Rivage and Keesler Federal Credit Union presented the fifth annual Heroes at Fallen Oak Golf Club.
Despite a delayed start due to inclement weather, 36 teams from throughout Coastal Mississippi teed off in a complimentary four-player team invitational honoring local first responders.
Fallen Oak was used for the day for a relaxing competition away from the front line for local first responders. Keesler Federal Credit Union President Andrew Swoger said, “We want to not wait until something bad happens to say thank you. This is a way of saying thank you to our first responders. These men and women lay it out there every day for us and a lot of times we wait until some big event has happened before we say thank you. We are going to go ahead and say thank you before that because we know it’s coming.”
MGM Resorts International Vice President Anthony Delvescovo said, “Some of the fun times start when they are coming in off the 18th hole. You see a lot of great shots; you see a lot of bad shots. It’s a good fun time, I think that’s what they are all about, is coming here relaxing a little bit, representing their departments and having a good time.”
