5/4 – Sam’s Monday night forecast

Meteorologist Sam Lucey has a look at the week ahead

Tonight stays mostly clear and comfortable, with lows dipping into the lower 60s and a light southerly breeze. Tuesday brings a warm and mostly sunny day, with highs nearing 80 degrees and a steady south wind returning moisture to the region. Clouds increase Tuesday night, keeping temperatures mild in the upper 60s.

By Wednesday, that added moisture begins to pay off, with a slight chance for afternoon showers and thunderstorms and highs in the low 80s. Rain chances continue to increase Wednesday night, setting the stage for a wetter pattern.

Thursday looks to be the most active day, with widespread showers and possible thunderstorms and highs around 80. Rain remains likely into Thursday night as a front moves through, shifting winds out of the north and bringing slightly cooler air.

Unsettled conditions linger into Friday with periods of showers and storms and highs in the upper 70s. While rain chances gradually decrease over the weekend, scattered showers and thunderstorms remain possible each day through early next week, with highs generally in the low 80s and overnight lows in the mid to upper 60s.
