40th annual Biloxi Seafood Festival this weekend
The City of Biloxi is holding its 40th annual Seafood Festival this weekend.
The festival is Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the Biloxi Town Green.
There will be plenty of live entertainment, arts, and crafts and seafood.
All of the caterers, chefs, and vendors shop at the local seafood distributors and make some creative seafood dishes like seafood panini, seafood stuffed pineapple, and a plethora of fried food. Biloxi Chamber of Commerce Director Rachael Kiesling said, “I call this festival the biggest family reunion on the Gulf Coast because if you haven’t seen someone from high school or you haven’t seen your aunt that is in New Orleans or Mobile, this is the place to do it. People connect. They see each other and we celebrate our deep heritage in seafood culture on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.”
Admission is $5 but children under 12 are free. The festival is put on by the Biloxi Chamber of Commerce and the proceeds go toward grants for local businesses, scholarships for students, and other events to benefit the local community.
