4,085 new COVID-19 cases, 36 deaths statewide

Today, the Mississippi Department of Health is reporting an additional 4,085 cases of COVID-19 in Mississippi and 36 deaths.

Twenty-six deaths occurred between July 24^th and August 17^th and ten deaths occurred between November 20^th, 2020 and August 10^th, identified from death certificate reports.

Mississippi’s total of COVID-19 cases is now 396,394 with 7,916 deaths.

Among cases and deaths already reported, MSDH has identified eight additional COVID-19 cases in residents of long-term care facilities and three additional deaths.

Outbreaks of COVID-19 in long-term care facilities continue to rise steadily with 182 now ongoing.
