4-Star WR Dillon Alfred transfers from Gautier to Saraland (AL)

The Gautier football program is coming off its best season in more than 20 years and Dillon Alfred was a big part of that, leading the Gators in both receiving yards and touchdowns.

However, the four-star wide receiver has played his last game at the Swamp.

Today, Alfred announcing his plans to transfer to Saraland High School, the defending 6A State champions in Alabama coached by former Southern Miss Quarterback Jeff Kelly.

The rising junior burst onto the scene in 2022, hauling in 57 receptions for nearly 1,200 yards and 15 scores and college scouts took notice.

According to ESPN, Alfred is the second-ranked receiver in Mississippi for the class of 2025 and currently has Power 5 offers from Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Auburn, Arkansas, Missouri, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas A&M, and Penn State.

Alfred now teams up with an already explosive offense led by four-star Texas commit K.J. Lacey at QB and five-star Alabama commit Ryan Williams at wideout.

Gautier will have a completely new offense in 2023, already replacing All-American Quarterback Kaden Irving and another top receiver A.J. Phillips. Alfred said, “I really enjoyed my time at Gautier. Going to South State was a good moment because we were practicing during Thanksgiving and all that. We were having a good time. Everybody was laughing and giggling and all that, and we were enjoying it. Moving to Saraland from Gautier, I feel like it’s going to be a good move for me, and it’s really a big move.”

Alfred wants to thank the Gautier coaching staff, former teammates, and everyone that’s helped him on his football journey so far.
