$4 million allotted for telehealth efforts in Mississippi

Senators Roger Wicker and Cindy Hyde Smith are celebrating a health care win for the state.

More than $4 million has been awarded to the University of Mississippi Medical Center for a five-year re-designation as a center of excellence in telehealth.

Congress approved the funding after the senators fought for funding during the fiscal year 2026 cycle.

The medical center is working to expand telehealth services to rural communities and improve patient outcomes throughout the state.
