4/5 – Trey Tonnessen’s “Tables Will Turn” Friday Night Forecast
Meteorologist Trey Tonnessen
Monday will be somewhat of a transition day as an upper trough continues to dig into the southwestern United States, forcing the upper ridge over the Gulf south to move eastward. The surface pressure gradient will also tighten in response to developing low pressure over Texas. This will cause onshore winds to strengthen and result in a continued influx of more humid air. Overall, convective instability will be limited, so really only expecting isolated to widely scattered diurnal convection, mainly across locations to the northwest of our area where instability is slightly better. Unfortunately, even though convective coverage will be low, we still expect mostly cloudy skies by the afternoon, which will limit eclipse viewing in some areas. There will, however, be breaks in the clouds, so the eclipse may still be viewable in some areas.
As always: A cloudy day is no match for a sunny disposition. Be nice to each other.
