4/11 – Trey Tonnessen’s “Slow Period” Thursday Evening Forecast
Meteorologist Trey Tonnessen
Return flow begins again Saturday and the next frontal system that is on the horizon moves to a Texarkana to Laredo, Texas line, before slowing down. This is a very fast stall as the next stronger frontal system is developing in the foothills of the Rockies and begins to draw on the front over Texas causing it to stall. A line will continue moving east of this boundary but as it approaches our area, the forcing and kinematics weaken quite a bit causing activity to decrease along this line, especially the southern portion of this line. Even if there are a few showers that make it here by Tuesday or Wednesday, it would not be much. That would be mainly due to moisture loading ahead of the stalled front. Another strong cold front is advertised to move into the area by the end of next week, but the timing on all global models is extremely different.
As always: A cloudy day is no match for a sunny disposition. Be nice to each other.
