4/1 – Rob Martin’s “Updated April Weekend” Friday Night Forecast
No April fools from Mother Nature this April 1st. It was an awesome day, and expect that to extend through tonight with more of an easterly flow holding low temps above 50 for the most part.
There’s a little wrinkle in the Saturday morning forecast, but if you’re running the morning 5K at Pascagoula Beach Park, no worries. A weak warm front in the gulf will approach the coast with some light rain. The heavier rain and perhaps weak thunderstorms will remain well offshore, but those with morning boating plans will want to double check the forecast, as you could get wet.
For the rest of us rain really doesn’t look likely, and even if it does reach inland a bit it would likely be south of I-10 and light. We’ll remain in the mid-70s for highs with at least partial sunshine.
Sunday looks great with warmer temps in the upper 70s, ditto for Monday with maybe a stray shower. The next storm/rain threat looks to be Tuesday. As of now it looks nowhere near as severe as this week’s event, but strong to severe storms are possible along with heavy rain. It looks very wet at minimum that day. We get even warmer next Wednesday with highs above 80 area-wide, followed by some slightly below-normal temps to round out the week.
