35th annual Arbor Day Run/Walk/Roll event benefiting Disability Connection

Next month, people of any ability will be able to lace up their shoes to help those with disabilities.

The 35th annual Arbor Day Run/Walk/Roll event will take place February 25th at the Biloxi Town Green. The event is a partnership between Disability Connection and the Gulf Coast Running Club to help raise funds towards Disability Connection’s efforts in the community.

Registration begins at 8 a.m. The 5K kicks things off at 9 a.m. followed by the mile and quarter-mile events which start at 9:45. Pre-registration is available now until February 17th. The fee is $22. Disability Connection Executive Director Janie O’Keefe said, “We welcome everybody to come out and join us for fun. It’s just a fun event, you don’t have to pay to come. You can come out, hang out with us. In fact, we’ll have people pushing wheelchairs – they don’t pay – they just come; If you’re a parent, if you’re a caregiver, if you have someone you love that wants to be in the race.”

Disabled participants will receive a medal and all paying participants will receive a t-shirt.
