34th annual Summer Fair returning to the Coast Coliseum

A summer fan favorite is preparing to make its way back to the Gulf Coast.

The 34th annual South Mississippi Summer Fair is a family-friendly, jam-packed event outside the Mississippi Coast Coliseum.

The biggest and best rides will be presented through the North American Midway. The 11-day event begins tomorrow night, June 8th, and will continue through Sunday, June 18th.

Executive Director of the Coast Coliseum Matt McDonnell says safety at the fair is his number one priority. “We have Harrison County sheriff deputies that work the fair every single day. You walk through metal detectors to get onto the fairgrounds. Our perimeters are all secured, and we make sure that people are having a good time, they’re acting right, and if they don’t, we have to deal with that, but we want to make sure people know that we’re not going to tolerate any nonsense and it’s a safe family environment.”

The fair is open 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. on weekdays for $5 and from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m. on weekends for $10. Children under six can enter for free.
