Gulf Coast Running Club held their 33rd annual Summer Beach Run 5K and one-mile kids run on Saturday.

The 5K began at 8 a.m. with the kids race starting shortly after. The race hosted about 130 participants.

$150 Gift cards and trophies were given out to the first overall male and female finishers. Second and third place male and female finishers were given $100 and $50 gift cards as well as trophies.

Trophies were given to the top three one-mile race finishers in the ages 10-12 group and the nine and under group as well.

The overall 5K race winner was Brandon, Mississippi resident Caleb Hammons. “It’s great. I come from Brandon, Mississippi. I always come down to the Coast races and run. They’re great races. I love the Gulf Coast Running Club. Well, the last two years I’ve had a pretty rough race and finished pretty far back the last two years, so I was like maybe this year will work out and it did.”

Pass Christian resident Leah Watters finished first in the female division of the 5K.
