26th Gulf Coast Art Association Show

The Gulf Coast Art Association show came to a close at the Edgewater Mall. Artists that are a part of the association were able to submit Three pieces to be displayed at the mall and also had a chance to win some awards. This year they even had elementary school students participating. They were able to come in and draw pictures of cars from Cruisin’ the Coast. One of the artists was even inspired by the Pope’s visit to the United States and painted an entire picture in the time that he was here.  Maryellen Turcotte said to News 25, "My sister had sent me a picture of us when were in Rome and we had a private audience because of my father’s position and I just that in addition to having him here and I’ve been so impressed with him because he just seems like such a wonderful person. " The art association meets on the first Friday of each month at the Handsbro Community Center and anyone is welcome to attend.
