26th annual Billfish Classic returns to the Gulf Coast

Anglers are now out at sea hoping to reel in a winning catch for the Billfish Classic.

This is the biggest fishing tournament on the entire Gulf Coast and teams are searching for marlin, tuna, blue wahoo, and dolphinfish.

The competition is fierce as millions of dollars in prize money is up for grabs.

You can see what they’ve reeled in at their public weighs. The scales are open from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. Kessler Park with Team Code Blue said, “It’s such a cool experience, especially here because so many people come out and see the weigh in.”

Tanner Keesee with Team Code Blue said, “You worked hard all weekend and your hard work finally paid off. It’s pretty cool.”

You can also enjoy the Billfish from the comfort of your own home. On Saturday, the catch and release portion of the tournament will be nationally broadcast on CBS from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m.
