21-year-old Pascagoula native dies in accident in New Albany, MS
A Pascagoula native and student at Blue Mountain College was killed Thursday night when he was struck by a vehicle in New Albany, Mississippi.
New Albany Police Chief Chris Robertson says reports came in shortly before 10 p.m. that a pedestrian had been truck by a vehicle on West Bankhead Street.
Officers found the body of a white male, later identified as 21-year-old Christopher ‘Boomer’ Maurin of Pascagoula.
Chief Robertson says Maurin had been eating dinner with friends at a nearby restaurant and left the group, walking west when he was struck by a vehicle a short distance from the restaurant.
Maurin was also a member of the baseball team at Blue Mountain College. He was set to make his debut for the Toppers after sitting out the 2020 season rehabbing a shoulder injury.
