20th Annual Billfish Classic Boat Parade

Eighty-one boats of all shapes and sizes paraded through the channel in Biloxi for the 20th annual Mississippi Gulf Coast Billfish Classic.
Hundreds of anglers headed 100 miles out to the Gulf where they’ll spend today and tomorrow fishing for tuna, dolphin, wahoo and blue marlin. Anglers travel from Key West and Corpus Christi and everywhere in between.
The tournament boasts $1.7 million in cash prizes, but it also means big money for the Coast. Mississippi Gulf Coast Billfish Classic Director Bobby Carter said, “They have to get fuel here. They stay in the restaurants, stay in the hotels, a lot of them do like to gamble. What they really like is the way they’re treated here, the hospitality. We’re going on our 20th year so that really says something for the Gulf Coast. “
Everyone is invited to come out to the weigh in at Point Cadet at the Golden Nugget Casino, Friday and Saturday from 3 to 9 each night.
