Light showers ahead of the cold front will slowly move across Louisiana today and Mississippi tonight. Rainfall amounts will generally be less than a quarter of an inch, along with limited instability. This will keep t-storms well offshore for the most part. In terms of temperatures, today will likely be the warmest day of the 7-day forecast period with highs barely touching climatology.
Another system will be drawn eastward with the main disturbance over the Great Lakes on Saturday. This will reinforce below normal temps and keep the local area dry through this weekend. A rather benign pattern is expected in the longer range portion of the forecast period.
