CNN hires Saints Safety Malcolm Jenkins as commentator on race and social justice


As a result of controversial comments made by Drew Brees over the National Anthem, in some ways, the New Orleans Saints have been at the center of conversations dealing with racial inequality and social justice reform.

Saints Safety Malcolm Jenkins has been at the center of the center of those conversations and he’s just getting started.

According to reports, the outspoken veteran defensive back has been hired by CNN as a commentator on race and social justice.

Per his announcement on Monday, Jenkins will contribute to studio shows across CNN’s worldwide network as well as multiple platforms and special programming.

Jenkins becomes the first professional football player to join CNN as a player still on an active NFL roster.

He returned to New Orleans this off season after spending the last six years with the Philadelphia Eagles.
