A physician at Singing River Health System has tested positive for coronavirus, the hospital confirmed.
Sun Herald reporter Mary Perez first reported the news on SunHerald.com.
SRHS CEO Lee Bond told the Sun Herald that the doctor is over age 65 and received the positive report after returning from a trip out of state.
“This individual is currently at home in isolation and asymptomatic, doing very well,” Bond said.
Bond didn’t say in which department the doctor works, but he said the staff of 2,600 were told Friday of the potential risk.
