One local official known to Biloxi residents has announced his candidacy for Mississippi’s fourth congressional district seat.
Robert Deming announced today that he will challenge incumbent Representative Steven Palazzo in the Republican primary for the seat.
Deming currently serves on the Biloxi City Council along with being a business owner and practicing law on the Coast.
He says that championing economic growth for the district and the country, as well as offering solutions to fix the national debt, will be cornerstones of his campaign. “I think everything begins with economics. It’s about creating jobs. It’s about having a strong economy. How are we going to have a strong economy? Well, we can’t have the threat of a tumbling and bumbling federal deficit that’s going to eat at us from year to year to year and threaten our future and our safety. We have got to rein in our spending. We have got to control what we’re doing in Washington, D.C.”
The Republican Primary Election for the race will be held on March 10th with a runoff held on March 31st if necessary.
