William Carey University is starting an online class to help teachers renew their Mississippi Educator License.
The five week class is tuition free and offered to K through 12th grade teachers who are currently in the classroom.
The class is called ‘teacher performance and professional growth.’ The program includes the study of professional growth and development through performance self-study with an emphasis on informed decision making in relation to the five domains of the Mississippi Teacher Growth Rubric. William Carey Assistant Professor Dr. Carol Payne said, “We don’t want any teachers to not be in the classroom due to a license issues. So, this is our way to give back. Our professors on both the Tradition and Hattiesburg campuses volunteered to teach this course. This is a great opportunity for teachers to acquire the CEUs needed to update their license.”
The class begins January 13th. The deadline to apply is January 8th and enrollment is limited. The students will be responsible for an $85 application and technology fee.
