Seniors in the Biloxi community were in for a helping handful this morning at the annual ‘Senior Thanksgiving Breakfast and Fellowship.’
This was a free event for seniors in the Biloxi community to get together and give thanks a little early. Those seniors did give thanks for the appreciation they felt and the chance to sit down with friends.
The Biloxi Parks and Rec Department has been putting on this event for years with the help of some first responders.
Biloxi firefighters took time out of their morning to serve the breakfast for these seniors. Biloxi Senior Citizen Ethel Smith said, “Having the firemen and the policemen up there serving us breakfast, it’s good. I am thinking you know how you’re thinking when you get old what there is going to be for you, but I’m finding out there is a lot of things for seniors.”
Ward 5 Councilman Paul Tisdale said, “I’m a senior myself and the older I get really the nicer it is to have an opportunity to meet some of the people.”
This is just one of the many events for seniors put on at the Donal Snyder Community Center. You can keep up with all of these events on the senior calendar found on the City of Biloxi’s website.
