Students at North Gulfport Middle School were evacuated from the building today after the school received a bomb threat.
Gulfport police responded to the scene just after noon. Students were immediately evacuated while officials searched through the building.
As of now, authorities have not released any information about how the threat was made or who it came from. Gulfport Police PIO Sgt. James Griffin said, “When you hear this type of information, know that law enforcement and the school district are doing their best to make sure the students are safe. We’ve made a pickup point or a community point for the parents who arrive here at the school.”
Just after 2 p.m., Gulfport police gave the all clear and students returned to class.
