A new round of sports legends in the City of Biloxi have been named to the Biloxi Sports Hall of Fame 2019 Class.
Out of around 30 nominations, 13 new inductees were named. High school and college football Coach John Williams and former Indians basketball star Seber Windham, who now coaches at Biloxi High, are both in the mix.
They head an impressive group that includes three Biloxi Boxing Club legends, a 165-pound walk-on center on the 1949 LSU Sugar Bowl team, two of the area’s best ever high school baseball pitchers, and a former Biloxi Dodger’s pitcher.
Cecilia Dobbs-Walton with the City of Biloxi said, “A lot of these people that are inducted into this sports hall of fame are stand outs in their sports. So, this is a way to honor them and it is a way to remind people about sports and to be involved in activities and to always achieve your goals.”
All of these Hall-of-Famers will be honored at a reception on August 25th. It is open to the public and will be held at the Biloxi Civic Center.
