A South Mississippi business is hoping to give back just in time for school to start.
Petro Chevrolet in Pascagoula is partnering with Backpack Buddies to hold a food drive at the dealership. The car dealer is hoping to fill the trunk space of a Corvette over the next three weeks.
Backpack Buddies is an organization that discreetly provides food to students in need. Spokesperson Jonathan Brannan tells News 25 this effort falls in line with what the brand is all about. “The Petro brand is all about being good community partners and we knew that partnering with Backpack Buddies would be a great way to show this area that we actually do care about the community. We wanted to reach out and we figured this would be the best way to do that, especially with school starting up. So, come out and donate to Backpack Buddies at Petro Chevrolet and Cadillac in Pascagoula.”
Pascagoula-Gautier Schools Superintendent Wayne Rodolfich made one of the first donations to the effort.
