The United Way wants you to get on board as the non-profit continues to collect school supplies to help kids in need in our community.
United Way of South Mississippi is asking everyone in Hancock, Harrison, Pearl River, and Stone counties to help ‘fill the bus.’
The annual school supply drive is now in full swing and will continue through Wednesday, July 31st so there is still time to help make a positive difference in a local kid’s life.
With next week’s tax-free weekend including school supplies, United Way of South Mississippi CEO Kathy Springer tells News 25 that it should be a prime opportunity to donate. “It’s going to be such a big help to families, particularly if you have multiple kids and you have to buy a lot of different school supplies. I also hope when people are at Walmart shopping for school supplies with their families they’ll pick up a few extra items and put them in the bin for those kids who may not have the same resources available to them.”
