No matter how many years Drew Brees has left in the tank as the starting quarterback of the New Orleans Saints, either he or his successor is gonna be throwing to a perennial top five receiver, if not the best receiver in the league.
At least the Saints are reportedly prepared to pay Michael Thomas like he’s the best wideout in the NFL just a week after signing Cameron Jordan to a three-year contract extension.
According to ESPN’s Dianna Russini, the Saints are “comfortable” making Thomas the highest paid receiver in the game.
A second round pick out of Ohio State in 2016, Thomas has been a model of consistency compiling at least 90 receptions and 1,000 yards in each of his first three seasons.
Thomas led the league with 125 catches in 2018.
