Members of a Coast gym were pounding the pavement this weekend to show their support for fallen Biloxi Police Officer Robert McKeithen and his family.
Brantley Ellison Fitness of Biloxi organized a memorial walk Sunday from Jones Park to the Biloxi Town Green to honor Officer McKeithen. The 12 mile walk featured hundreds of participants, all carrying thin blue line flags and wearing commemorative tee shirts.
Ellison tells News 25 that it wasn’t difficult organizing an event like this on short notice, pointing to the Coast’s desire to honor one of our own. Brantley Ellison said, “I think a lot of people in the community they wanted a way to come out and celebrate his life, show support to the police department. A lot of people want to volunteer for a lot of different things, they just need an opportunity and a way and I think today that we created, we used our platform as an organization to give people a way to come out and give their love and support.”
After the walk, participants gathered at Sal and Mookie’s where a percentage of those sales went to Officer McKeithen’s family.
