The sunshine may be here to stay, but we were off to a rocky start yesterday when an EF-1 tornado with winds up to 90 MPH moved through Hancock County.
The National Weather Service surveyed the damage from yesterday’s storms. Numerous tree limbs were broken with scattered trees snapped and uprooted.
The tornado began just after 11 a.m. near the intersection of Highway 603 and Apache Dr. It traveled east-northeast lifting just before Shawnee Street.
The tornado traveled .4 miles with a width of 25 yards.
