Ever since enduring Hurricane Katrina, the people at New Life Disaster Relief have been helping those affected by disaster. Now, they need your help.
They are making a trip next week to respond to the tornadoes that hit Monroe County. They are seeking monetary donations as well as cleaning supplies, paper products, toiletries, and canned goods. This trip will be their fourth disaster response of 2019 so funds are tight.
If you aren’t able to donate money you can always donate your time because they are seeking volunteers too.
These volunteers will assist in the cleanup process once New Life reaches Monroe County. New Life Disaster Relief Director Ken Wetzel said, “We have a special kind of empathy having endured what we endured after Katrina to be able to tell those people that, you know what, God’s still in control and there are people out there that care for you and that given time, things will be fine, things will work out for you.”
You can drop off your donations to the Biloxi Christian Church at 14800 Big Ridge Road or you can call Wetzel at 228-596-0390.
