Back in January, rumors about New Orleans Saints Head Coach Sean Payton returning to Dallas started to swirl, following remarks made by Cowboys owner Jerry Jones on a radio show.
Those same rumors popped up again during free agency when Teddy Bridgewater considered resigning elsewhere. Three months later, Payton is finally addressing all the chatter.
This week, Payton revealed his thoughts on a radio interview of his own with WWL in New Orleans suggesting this rumor is something he’s actually had to deal with for the past few seasons.
Payton also claims he’s not going anywhere saying “I’ve got Fleur-de-Lis tattoos that can’t be erased.”
Permanent ink aside, the Cowboys still haven’t extended current Head Coach Jason Garrett and Payton was an assistant in Big D from 2003 to 2005.
He’s been with the Saints ever since, leading them to victory in Super Bowl 44.
