Black Beach Weekend takes over the Gulf Coast with endless activities for locals and tourists to enjoy.
On Highway 90 you can see what’s in store for Black Beach Weekend. The motto for day one: prep on Thursday so this weekend can be a breeze. Bawk Bawk Chicken Truck Owner Corey Matthews said, “Everybody feels good. We are ready to hang out and see what it’s like. We have heard a lot of good talk about it.”
Black Beach Weekend is an incredible opportunity to enjoy the Coast and expand your business. Adrian Brown Sr. is a culinary student who has been in the wing game for over two years now. He said, “I really don’t know what to expect to be honest with you. It’s my first time being here. Everybody keeps telling me it’s going to be a bigger crowd than what I’m used to expecting. I’m hoping to sell out multiple times.”
Tourists and vendors are coming in from Florida, Kentucky, Alabama, and other states. What’s the best thing on the menu? “Come out and try my honey gold wings,” said Brown. “My famous honey gold wings. They sell out every time.”
“My biggest seller is probably a 55. That’s five shrimp, five wings, and fries. I always advise people to put the Cajun ranch and the spicy honey on that thing,” said Matthews.
With great food, concerts, car shows, and so much more, it’s going to be a great weekend on the Gulf Coast. Biloxi residents James Sardin said, “They can have to expect to have a lot of fun. A lot of fun, a lot of good food, a lot of good people. It’s just a time to enjoy yourself.”
Resident Glenn Long said, “From where we came from, Alabama and Mississippi, we can all just come together and have a good time without any drama or anything like that.”
Spring breaker Star Williams said, “It’s a good vibe. Everybody that’s out here is amazing. I haven’t met any rude people the two years that I have came. So, I’m just looking for a good time.”
