Today in Long Beach, students and alumni of the University of Southern Mississippi got a close look at some careers on the Coast during a job fair.
The event was held at the USM Gulf Park Campus library. Employers were on hand to offer information on jobs ranging from full-time, part-time, to internships.
USM Career Services Assistant Director Jona Burton tells News 25 the most valuable take-away is the opportunity to practice delivering the 60 second elevator pitch. “It’s really important that we encourage our students to develop the opportunity to build relationships and learn how to deliver their message about themselves before they graduate.”
This is the fourth year of ‘Careers on the Coast’ Job Fair. About 200 students attended the event.
