More than 100 guinea pigs are safe and sound after Gulfport police found them living in deplorable conditions.
These guinea pigs were found after Gulfport officers got a call for a burglary and ultimately found these poor pigs at that home.
Now, the Humane Society of South Mississippi needs your help! They are accepting monetary donations, bedding, cages, water bottles, food bowls, and guinea pig food.
You can drop off any of these items to their location on 25th Avenue in downtown Gulfport. “We are here to take care of these animals when our community can’t, so we desperately need the donations and the funds to be able to help and care for them, a lot of guinea pigs who seem to be in decent health, and other guinea pigs who are pretty matted and a little bit scabby. Some of their paws are burned from urine scald and the conditions that they were living in, so right now our main priority is just making sure that they are well taken care of.”
The Humane Society says the guinea pigs will be up for adoption sometime next week for a fee of $15.
