Mississippi Power customers can expect to save more money on their electric bill each month.
Today, the Public Service Commission approved the company’s annual fuel filing, reducing the fuel portion of customer’s bills by three percent.
According to Mississippi Power, a residential customer using 1,000 kilowatt hours of electricity a month will see an average savings of $4.14 on their total monthly bill.
The company made its annual filing this past November, which reflected a decrease in fuel costs, driven primarily by lower natural gas prices.
Each year the commission adjusts Mississippi Power’s prices up or down to reflect changes in the cost of fuel used by the company to generate electricity.
