It’s hard to put into words what Biloxi Shuckers centerfielder Corey Ray did during the month of July, but the Southern League summed it up perfectly.
Southern League player of the month goes to the Milwaukee Brewers number four prospect who is the first Shucker to win that award since Brandon Woodruff in 2016.
The former first-round pick finished out July with 11 home runs, 27 RBI, 25 runs scored, eight doubles, and 13 stolen bases, and led the league in six offensive categories.
Not to mention, he was tops in all of minor league baseball with those 11 long balls and 20 extra base hits.
He was even the first player in the minors to swipe 20 bases and slug 20 dingers with a moon shot on July 24th.
Shuckers played Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp at MGM Park tonight. Jumbo Shrimp win 5-1.
