As the Mississippi Gulf Coast prepares for Black Beach Weekend, C Spire is also gearing up for the weekend extravaganza.

The wireless provider is deploying additional capacity to its mobile communications this week to help handle the anticipated increase in cell service. C Spire is offering increased capacity at area cell towers and the deployment of a cell on wheels that will be positioned at Edgewater Mall near the public safety command post.

News 25 spoke to Dave Miller, the media relations spokesperson at C Spire, who tells us the service comes at no additional cost to the city of users. “Well anytime there’s a tremendous simultaneous demand on the network there is probably going to be delays in connecting to the network, but what our goal here is to really minimize those as much as we can for both voice and data. So that is why we have taken these steps in advance of this particular major event.”

Miller says this effort is part of C Spire’s commitment to prioritizing and providing world class customer service.
