2018 Heart Gala

It was a packed house tonight at the Maritime and Seafood Industry Museum, kicking off the Mississippi Gulf Coast Heart Gala.

This event helps advance the lifesaving mission of the American Heart Association. All proceeds raised tonight from the gala and live auction will help benefit cardiovascular research, community education, and advocacy efforts.

This year’s honoree is Roy Anderson, the former president and CEO of Roy Anderson Corp. Anderson tells News 25 he’s happy to be a part of a good cause. “It allows the fundraiser to educate the community on a healthy you, healthy heart through hospitals, elementary schools, through CPR kits to train a fourth grader with CPR and one day he might save a life for a family member at Thanksgiving 20 years later. It’s a great cause and I’m honored to be a part of it.”

The American Heart Association’s next event will be the heart walk which should be taking place sometime in September at Jones Park in Gulfport.
