2017 State of Jackson County Address

Jackson County is on the move and officials say 2017’s projects and economic development within the county look prosperous.
Jackson County Board of Supervisors President Troy Ross gave this year’s State of the County Address in front of the Rotary Club in Pascagoula this afternoon.
Ross hit focus points on the county’s finances, projects, development and discussed what lies ahead for 2017. He talked about improvements in transportation infrastructure, taking care of safety hazards on Old Fort Bayou Road, and the corridor connector project that will connect the St. Martin area to D’Iberville. “We’ve already had big box stores that have expressed an interest in locating there. That’s a project. We’re going to five lane curb and gutter the road. It’s going to create a corridor for commercial development that would diversify our economy. We’ve already got a great industrial base. A project like this is going to put us in a position where we can have commercial as well,” said Ross.
The county has eyes on implementing a LNG export facility which could be one of the largest economic developments in our state’s history.
