2017 Southern Gaming Summit kicks off

Today the 2017 Southern Gaming Summit began at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum and Convention Center.
Tourism and gaming leaders from all over the world come to Biloxi each year to get together and share cutting edge developments, newest advancements in games, equipment and best practices on the gaming floor. This year’s keynote speaker is James F. Allen, chairman of Hard Rock International. The summit features an  exhibit floor and panel discussions including Cybersecurity, new slot games, the future of gaming and more.
Representative from IGT Nick Khin tells News 25 the summit is a great opportunity to expand on gaming research and development. “We spend a lot of time talking about the new games and the new hardware, the new technology that we are developing and have been working on. We’ve been showing a new piece of technology in which we call ‘cardless connect’ which I think a lot of our customers are very excited about. As you know, you go into a casino and most people have a player’s card. We have new technology now which allows you to use your smartphone, your mobile device.”
The summit continues tomorrow until 4 p.m.
