2017 education roundup at William Carey
This afternoon, William Carey’s tradition campus in Harrison County opened their doors for prospective teachers.
The university’s annual Teacher’s Education Roundup provided information including state curriculum, details on the licensing process, and tips on becoming a teacher through the science and mathematics alternate route teacher (SMART) program.
The event is for high school or college students interested in entering the teaching profession or anyone who thinks they might want to be an educator. Director of Education Dr. Noal Cochran said, “Ask, ask questions. We get a bad reputation. Education in Mississippi is seen as the step-child that gets abused by the government in many cases. Education is a wonderful career. Education is a career that changes many generations of lives.”
This is the third year William Carey University has hosted the education roundup. Their tradition campus has participated for the past two years.
